Cerebella – Skullgirls (NYCC 2012)

Why I love this character

Cerebella is the cutest charcter in Skullgirls, that’s no lie! And she’s a total adorable brown skinned cutie, such as myself. :3  Not only does she have oen of the most unique skill sets in the game, but her backstory is awsome! Cerebella happens to be a carnival side-show performer who is adored and loved by many. As she’s sucked into the world of seeking the Skullstone, we can deem her as one of the most pure-hearted of the contenders out to seek the stone. I love her personality gamewise and her design of course!

The Process

This cosplay has been oen of my greatest achievements. The whole costume was created by myself (with a bit of design ideas from my mom) besides the wig of course. One of my best moments was when I debuted this cosplay at New York Comic Con in 2012. EVERYBODY LOVED IT! I was stopped left and right with people that surprisingly loved my cosplay! Many Cerebella fans recognized me right away. And even those who didn’t asked me who I was and commended my handy craftmanship.

Memories

The best memory that I have of this cosplay is split into two. At the time, I was the one of the top 5 Cerebella cosplayers to make it on the internet. And that’s huge!! I hadn’t realized how popular the cosplay was until I found that one day I showed up as the 2nd and 3rd results for cerebella cosplay on Google! Not even that but I attended a skullgirls panel at Anime Expo where I met up with Erin Fitzgerald and Danielle McCray, two famous voice actors from many anime and gmes that you love and enjoy and most importantly, the voices of Parasol and Painwheel of skullgirls! Erin told me that she had saw my cosplay online which was a shock!

And then there was Christina Vee. <3 <3 <3 I love her! As it’s no secret that she is the voice of my character, Cerebella! I had the honor of attending her Panel at ACEN 2015 and got an autograph directly from her as well. When I approached her I showed her my cosplay on my phone and she told me that she’s already seen it in the Labs studio and that she loved it and told me that I did a great job!! OMG!! This famous voice actress congratulated my cosplay!! <3 It was a heavenly moment I won’t ever forget!

C. Viper – Street Fighter 4 (NYCC 2012)

Why I love this character

C.Viper may be one of the most bad-ass Street Fighter female characters to date! Not only is she cool with her super dominative personality and moves, but I liked the fact that behind her tough exterior, she’s a loving mother just trying to make a great life for her and her daughter. Viper is a very technical character in game and I hope to one day master the skills of playing her.

Althought this cosplay turned out nothing as how I imagined it would look in my head, I had a lot of fun! I won’t forget this little kid running over to me with his parents and begging for a pictuer with his favorite champ, C. Viper! I was surprised that anyone realy noticed me since the shade of super cheap Jumbo Yaki brading hair was way off from Vipers original (thought I felt it matched my skin tone much better) and the fact that I was wearing glasses, but not Viper’s signature yellow safety shades. He had a fun time posing with me and I kinda felt like a super hero. 😀

Tsukamoto Tenma – School Rumble! (ACEN 2012)

Why I love this character

I mean, it’s Tenma! Who doesn’t love a little Tenma and their school rumble? She’s one of the cutest characters ever. While a little dimwhitted and a total airhead, I can relate to her on so many levels! She tries so hard to get the attneiton of Karisuma, a smart chill-tempered guy who has no interest in Tenma’s feeling for him. She’s a fun, bubbly character that reflects my personaility a lot!

Sia (Lisianthus) – Shuffle (ACEN 2012, 2014)

Why I love this character

When I first watched Shuffle, I was definitely in for a surprise. It is your typical dude harem love story anime, where there’s 1 extremely lucky guy, surrounded by 5 other girls who happen to be daughters to the Gods. Althought, Rin must pick the one that is the true love to Marry. Sia is the sweetest out of the bunch. I was  immediately drawn to her. Her personality is amazing and of all the girls, she seemed to genuinely really fall in love with Rin and it was so real. I won’t mention what happens in the anime, it’s a surprise!

The Process

Acen 2010 was the first year that I’ve  attended, and had ever been to an Anime Convention! As you can see I didn’t have the red hair at first, but I acquired red hair soon enough. Thanks Ebay! I was able to find a great wig that was at first curly, but with a little bit of brushing and a thick comb, I was able to tame it. I purchased this cosplay through CosplaySky.com. I trust this seller and they even shipped out another skirt when the first one that I ordered was way too short! >_> Loved this cosplay and it’s usually one of my go-tos for Acen!
